Diana, So is this acid/alkaline balance diet a ‘one size fits all?’
I’m curious because some people need to eat more cooked versus raw and others are to eat more raw foods. How would one know what is fitting for them?
thanks for your help,
Jeanette
EXCELLENT POINT………I would be very interested and greatfull for the answer. Thanks !

Hi Jeanette & Marla
I agree some people do need to eat more cooked versus raw and others are to eat more raw foods.
First, this is not a diet; when you understand the principles you see that everyone needs to make sure they are not too acidic. When one is too acidic there is a need in the body to alkalize; there are many ways to do that are individual to each person and hundreds of foods to choose from. Alkaline forming foods tend to be mostly vegetables and fruits which most people are simply not eating enough of which is why there is an imbalance.
Hope that answers your question.
Diana
Thank-you SO much for your reply,Diana,–and so quickly—I absolutely know this is not a diet(thank goodness) and that it TRULY is a way to increase energy and obtain/maintain maximum health—-I should have been more specific when I “ditto’ed” the previous post—-this has been of concern to me over the years, since I already know and experience the benefits of eating a variety of fruits & vegs, daily!! My question is “Do they loose their maximum value when cooked? I only consume organic produce to begin, so that’s good—and I “lightly” cook my vegs(Don’t kill them)….so for example, naturally eating “whole” is going to be the best all-around nutritional value, but if I make a baked apple, for example, I realize it might loose some “fiber points” in the transition, right?…but does it actually loose any vitamin and mineral value?Thank so much…and heres to our mutual good health! Thanks +CHEERS! Marla
Yes, thank you for your response, Diana. I also eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables daily, along with whole grains. Maybe a more specific question would be the combination of particular foods which may create an acidic environment. Even though I am eating these very healthy foods with no major changes, I have been experiencing more than usual dry skin and severe itching at various times of the day and/or night. Either it is the combination of foods or lacking in a certain nutrient. Either way does the acid/alkaline balance have to do with overly dry skin and ESPECIALLY the itching which can drive one bonkers! By the way, it can be somewhat disturbing that I eat many of the Sunrider foods and still have this problem going on.
Thanks for listening and your help,
Jeanette
