Randy’s Homemade Mango Mud Mask

I was researching mangos for a recent article on their health benefits and I came across the idea of a mango mud mask.

Knowing that the only skin care product that has touched my face is years is a shaving  cream, I thought, if I can do that, ANYONE can!

Also many people didn’t believe that I actually put  homemade Banana Conditioner in my hair a few weeks ago.  There is no mistaking that this is  …mask on my face…

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 ripe mango
  • 3 tbs. oatmeal
  • 3 tbs. almonds

mango before maskThis was the mango I used.
It was the only ripe mango I had and my daughter wanted to eat the other half and I wanted to eat a little myself so I ended up using about 2/3 of this.

oatmeal and almonds in grinder - mango maskThis was my almonds and oatmeal in a small coffee grinder – before.
(Unlike the mango, I had a lot more almonds so ate quite a few of those!)

This was my almond mixture after grinding.

This is my almond mixture and mango peaces in a bullet blender before mixing.

Mixture after blending.  At one point it was not blending well enough so I added 2 tbs. of water.
The mixture smelled a lot like oatmeal but it definitely tasted like mango.
It’s taste was how  I would imagine mango baby food to taste like.

The mixture seemed quite liquid so the only way I knew to make sure it didn’t run off my face was to lay on a towel and then  used my hand to grab mixture and swish it on my face.
After laying  for  five minutes it seemed safe to stand up!

The most obvious experience I had was that it felt so COOL on my face.
I was expecting for it it warm up after a while but it never did.
Maybe that was the cooling properly of mango I had researched previously?

Following is what I looked like after removing…

  1. I love that you stepped out of a ‘guys’ comfort zone to try that mask just for us. I’m excited because I just happen to have several fresh mangos, almonds and org. oatmeal. I’m cleaning house this morning so I’ll treat myself to your mask when I’m done and let you know how it goes.

Hilarious again Randy. You look good both ways, before and after. I like this better than the banana conditioner for photos anyway. LOL

  3. You are so darn cute! I love reading this in the morning – mask or no mask my day is brighter!

  4. Thanks Carla, Jean, Lynn and Diana.

This is definitely out of my comfort AND interest zone so the only way I know how to make it work is to have fun!

  5. yea mangos are badass. why do white cut them in squares??? oh and if you enjoy cannabis eat one an hour before and yea get higher its sick. They share a chemical that helps the THC transfer the blood brain barrier better. peace ~_~

  6. Hi I’m from the Philippines. I was actually having some research on how to heal my pimple breakouts naturally, then I came across to this. Normally I use turmeric and honey mixture but I am also open to whatever other organic products. Needless to say, it might also be good if you could add some details like the good things or benefits we could get from those mixture. Thank you!
