Prevent Swine Flu

We all know that the best thing is to prevent proliferation the development of the flu.
The only way the virus enters is throught nostrils and mouth/throat.

Here are some very things you can do:

1. Wash your hands frequently
2. Keep your hands off the face
3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water
4. Boost your natural immunity (Alpha 20C - whole food nutrition nourishes the T-Cells in our immunity - from Sunrider).
5. Drink as lots of warm liquids (Calli and Fortune Delight are great) as this will wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive.
6. Clean your nostrils at least once every day with blowing the nose hard once a day and/or clean with warm salt water by swabbing both nostrils

Swine Flu Jab Link to Killer Nerve Disease

A warning that the new swine flu jab is linked to a deadly nerve disease has been sent by the Government to senior neurologists in a confidential letter.

The letter from the Health Protection Agency, the official body that oversees public health, has been leaked to The Mail on Sunday, leading to demands to know why the information has not been given to the public before the vaccination of millions of people, including children, begins.

In my article I mentioned that certain substances like echinachia can actually be detrimental for flus like this. This is because particular foods increase the production of certain immune factors (cytokines) that the virus is immune to. In this situation when the body sees that its immune response is not working it works even harder, eventually flooding the body with so many of these factors that they start attacking the body itself. This is called an cytokine storm. I was working from a list of substances that increase the particular factors that swine flu is immune to (therefore bad) and those foods which decrease those factors (good). This list came from research by a Stephen Jones form Australia.

Someone kindly informed Diana that there is new research that refutes this research about echinachia. This is the trouble with studies - that just one or two studies is not enough to conclusively prove a certain theory. That is why at Real Food for Life we try to rely on time tested principles.

Just for the sake of interest, I am including more of this list: The good foods that help the immune system ans sometimes even decrease those specific immune factors are; garlic, vit C, green tea, st John wort, vit E, apple juice, cranberry juice, cat's claw, tumeric. These foods are best to avoid ; elderberry juice, chorella and spirulina, honey, chocolate, chimchi, dairy products.

Out of the billions of people living on this earth, 92 fatalities from the flu seems like a very small but sad number. With the information technology at our finger tips now, it is interesting that media focus is on the 92 and not the other several billion.
What I find encouraging is that so far the billions have resistence to this flu. Keep eating foods to feed the immune system. A good place to start is Sunrider's Quinary, and any table foods that are YELLOW. My 94 year old grandfather swore by garlic and onions!

Thank you for a very clear summary of the situation different from the perspectives gleaned from the numerous media sources. It was striking to see the high number of deaths due to other causes that by contrast we take for granted. We appreciate you keeping us up to date with accurate information and thoughtful advice.
