Creamy Tahini Salad Dressing

I love this tahini salad dressing recipe for its simplicity but mostly because it gives me a creamy dressing that is vegan.  Most creamy dressings contain milk products which for many individuals is hard to digest and contributes to weight gain. The other great thing about this dressing is that it full of very good protein.

Tahini Salad Dressing Recipe

Ingredients:

10 Tbsp. Tahini
5 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 ½ tsp. Braggs or soya sauce and mixed herbs
OR ½ tsp Himalayan salt and ½ tsp curry powder
7 – 10 Tbsp. water (if you want a warm dressing then use warm water)

Directions:
  1. Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice at a time with Tahini in a jar.
  2. Add seasoning of your choice and enough water until creamy.
  3. Season with favorite herbs.
  4. Serve on top of a fresh green salad of lettuce or watercress.

Note:  This recipe is often recommended in our 2-5-30 Health Diet and Detox due to its high protein and great taste.

  1. I came to this recipe searching your site for the “Warm Tahini Salad Dressing” you mention in another recipe but don’t give instructions for. This is clearly not a warm dressing but I thought I could warm it just a little bit anyway, adding the lemon juice later. However it betrays the same carelessness: the directions mention ingredients that aren’t in the ingredients list, and leaves out others that are. That’s two unusable recipes in a row. I suggest you read through your recipes once before posting them!

  2. Mary, thank you for the feed back. This recipe was post 2 years ago before I even came up with the idea of a warm version. Also, I do need a proof reader as I am just putting too much stuff out daily so thank you for alerting me. I have corrected it now.

  3. this is a nice recipe, anyone who just thinks about it can follow it, Mary must be a robot or something. Thank you for taking the time for posting healthy tasty food, please keep up the good work.

  4. Thank you Diane for posting the article on alkaline Balance. If you eat a piece of home-made cake, how do you balance that, so that you are eating 80/20 way?
