Find out all about the other healthy ingredients I used for this recipe:
Black Beans are the main ingredient in this black bean soup. This superfood has an abundance of nutrients (protein, vitamins, minerals, disease-fighting antioxidants and lots of healthy fiber). They are one of the most commonly consumed beans in the United States and are popular in Latin American countries.
They are a great source of plant-based protein; they are great for people who avoid eating animal products. 1 cup of black beans provides 15.2 grams protein (30%) of fat-burning protein. Protein is required by nearly every body function. They are often eaten with a grain that works together to make up a full protein making them a very good source of protein for vegetarians.
Carrots – Forget about Vitamin A pills. With this orange crunchy superfood, you get Vitamin A and a host of other powerful health benefits including beautiful skin, cancer prevention, anti-aging, and much more.
Onion: WHO recognizes that onions help relieve symptoms such as coughs, congestion asthma, and respiratory infections. Onions are full of protective phytonutrients, vitamins, trace minerals, quercetin (an important flavonoid), chromium, and unique anti-inflammatory nutrients. These add a great taste to this black bean soup.
Celery – is a negative calorie food, meaning it takes the body more calories to digest it than the food itself contains making it a very good food for weight loss. One stalk of celery has only a few calories because it is full of healthy cellulose. It is 95% water, very alkaline and filled with fiber. Â Its weight loss benefits are well known but you would be surprised at its other amazing health properties.
Coconut oil – once thought as a heart disease-causing saturated fat is now been proclaimed ‘the healthiest oil on earth.’ Discover how this transformation came about and the top 12 benefits of this newly declared an Amazing SuperFood.
Peas – many people think green peas are just a poor man’s meat or a cheap restaurant side-dish that puts ‘green’ on your plate. However, peas are really little powerhouses of nutrition that are a boon for your health and the whole planet. They add a green colour to this black bean soup. Read all their benefits, how to use them properly, and some easy recipes.
