Getting this virus is not something we want so let’s learn what we can do for coronavirus prevention and for a stronger immune system. We need to be caring for ourselves and those around us to have a better chance of not attracting it. My tips are common sense ones and please note that I am not a doctor.
The coronavirus virus spreads very easily and some infected people show no signs of having it but they are potentially contagious. It can survive outside the body for many hours so contamination on public surfaces can happen easily.
Most Important:
Do not go to gatherings with lots of people while there is a big spread happening. Best to stay home until this virus is under control.
Please Note For Coronavirus Prevention
- Avoid contact with sick people.
- Do not shake hands or even hug friends.
- Do not touch your face.
- Sneeze or cough into a tissue and then throw it out.
- Avoid being in crowded places and attending large events.
Let’s Learn Some Coronavirus Prevention Tips
What Stress and Panicking Do to You
Panicking does not and will not help. It can make things worse with all the negative energy moving around in our bodies.
“Stressed out? Don’t be surprised if you come down with something. Psychologists in the field of psychoneuroimmunology have shown that state of mind affects one’s state of health.” ~ American Psychological Association.
75% of Americans have experienced at least one symptom of stress in the past month according to the Stress in America survey.
How To Minimize Stress and Panic
It is important to be grounded in the body. One of the best things you can do is breathe gently and deeply into your belly. I know this well because a long time ago I was so stressed that I ended up in the hospital. Afterward, I learned a very simple breathing technique and nothing remotely like that has ever happened to me again. Read my story: Learning How to Breathe Changed My Life.
Deep breathing does more than help us relax; it’s been scientifically proven to improve wellness. Breathing deeply has many health benefits. Learn the 13 Health Benefits of Breathing Well.

Meditation Helps Your Immune System
“Meditation boosts antibodies. A recent study confirmed that, after being given weekly meditation training for 8 weeks, 48 biotech workers had significantly higher levels of antibodies than the control group (coworkers who didn’t meditate) as well as higher levels than before the study.” ~ Deepak Chopra
Washing Your Hands Many Times a Day Helps for Coronavirus Prevention
Always wash before eating, touching your face, after using the restroom, and after touching public surfaces. Get in the habit of handwashing. It is recommended by the CDC to scrub your hands with soap and water for 15-20 seconds.
I use a very healthy non-toxic hand soap Oi-Lin® Liquid Soap which is not full of unhealthy chemicals.
“This gentle and advanced formula is ideal for all skin types and especially on sensitive and dry skin. It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.”
Sometimes you cannot find a washroom and we are told to use hand sanitizers to kill the germs. Most sanitizers are currently sold out right now.
You can make your sanitizer with this recipe: 2/3 cup of 91% alcohol and 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel.
The big problem with this and the hand sanitizers most people know about is that with that much alcohol, your hands can become very dry. It may even start chapping your hands and some people like me can go on to bleeding.
What I use is Kandesn® Hand Cleansing Gel which “provides convenient, waterless cleansing. It evaporates quickly. Because of the special formula, it cleanses and moisturizes at the same time, so your hands don’t feel dry. It prevents the chapped feeling produced by other brands. Your hands will retain a pleasant, refreshing scent.”
It Is Essential To Have Good Health for Coronavirus Prevention
For sure the most important thing we can do is to help ourselves have health. Without health, there is not much we can do. The first thing is to be aware of what you are eating.
Did you know that sugar depresses your immune system?
Sugar Suppresses the Immune System
Sugar interferes with the body by overtaxing its defenses. Research at Loma Linda University, California studied the effects of overeating sugar on white blood cell activity. Those who ate a whole candy bar and a soft drink could only capture 1/10 the bacteria as those who only ate ½ a chocolate bar.
Also, there seems to be a connection between anxiety and sugar but these few studies were both done on rats. The bad news is that 75% of Americans are eating too much sugar.
Here are a few of the big things that create this sugar consumption:
- Coca-Cola or Pepsi – 1 can has 9 teaspoons of sugar.
- Sports drinks – 32-ounce Gatorade has 14 teaspoons of sugar.
- Yogurts – even zero-fat yogurts can contain five teaspoons of sugar.
- Ketchup – 3 tsp of ketchup has 1 tsp of sugar.
- Mars bar has 8 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 Slices of White Bread contains 6 teaspoons of sugar
Learn tips on how to reduce your sugar cravings. And understanding natural and synthetic sugars and which ones are best for Coronavirus prevention. Also, sugar is not food and it is fattening. Don’t go for artificial sweeteners as they are not good for your body.
Replace Sugary Food with Fruit: When you are having that craving for a sweet, eat a piece of fresh fruit. Still do not eat more than 2 or 3 pieces of fruit a day.
Eat fruits rich in Vitamin C like Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruit, and Mandarins which will help flush out toxins from the body. Best to eat no more than 2 or 3 pieces of fruit a day as they can also be cooling.
Try Stevia – A natural sugar alternative that nourishes the pancreas and has no calories. Stevia is an herbal extract from the Stevia Rebaudiana leaf that has been shown to regulate blood sugar and blood pressure.
It is possible to not get flues regularly. Many years ago I would have 4 to 5 flues or colds every year and one or two of them would have me laid up in bed for a week. That never happens anymore since I started nourishing my immune and respiratory systems 20 years ago. I nourish all my systems daily (Endocrine, Digestive, Respiratory, Circulation, and Immune).
How to Nourish the Body’s Immune System
It is important to protect ourselves from viruses and pathogenic bacteria by keeping our immune system strong.
By eating the right food you can help keep your immune system strong which is a step forward if you’re looking for ways to prevent getting a virus. First, let’s add some healthy foods that help boost the immune system to our meals.
Citrus fruits are full of vitamin C which helps strengthen the immune system as it increases the production of white blood cells that fight infections. Again just 2 or 3 a day.
Green Tea – “One of the beneficial compounds found in green tea has a powerful ability to increase the number of regulatory T cells that play a key role in immune function and suppression of autoimmune disease, according to new research in the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University.” ~ Science Daily
Herbal Foods That Are Very Helpful
Garlic has immune-boosting properties because of the sulfur-containing compounds, such as allicin in it. Allicin is a powerful antibiotic, which fights infection and bacteria. Just a few garlic cloves in a day, not whole bulbs.
Ginger has been used by Chinese herbalists for thousands of years and has been used as an antihistamine and decongestant which are two main effects of a cold. The University of Maryland Medical Center says ginger helps treat cold and flu symptoms.
Turmeric is the Yellow Superfood! It has also been shown to act as an immune booster helping regulate immune cell function against cancer too. A little goes a long way, add some to your food or take a few capsules per day.
This is a very good way to get turmeric and ginger into your body.
Turmeric Curcumin 95% Curcuminoids with BioPerine & Ginger
Turmeric with Ginger is arguably one of the most powerful herbs on the planet. Curcumin specifically, one of the primary compounds in turmeric powder, has been reported to be one of the most advantageous herbs.
Chinese Herbal Foods to the Rescue!
Those are wonderful foods but did not do enough for me. I am grateful to have found formulas that helped me to end all those cases of flu I was getting every year.
First of all, it is good to nourish the five main systems of the body. This is a formula I take every day “Quinary® supplement helps maintain health rather than waiting for the body to malfunction. It addresses the body’s systems collectively as well as individually. Although it is very difficult to achieve with a formula as complex as this one, our blended herbs are maintained without preservatives or synthetic chemicals.”
Very Important to Boost Your Immune System for Flu and Colds Prevention
This is a formula that is part of the Quinary so I am taking a little every day. Sometimes I take this one when there is a flu wanting to get in.
“Alpha 20C® is designed to address the body’s defense system with ‘wood element’ herbs that contain naturally occurring antioxidants and fortifying properties.* Sunrider’s proprietary formula is based on 3,000 years of herbal study and cutting-edge technology. Recent studies show that many of the herbal and botanical ingredients we use may contain beneficial bioactive components. Alpha 20C® is available in both capsules and powder form.”
It is amazing as it is full of high-quality, immune-supporting ingredients which is great, especially in the winter and it works!

Also, it is best to drink pure filtered water because unregulated chemicals in tap water are not good for us! Learn about Unregulated Chemicals in Tap Water Is Not Good For Us!
This is the filter I use APEC Water System, 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filter System.
Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Cold water with ice is challenging for the body.
Also, gargle as prevention with a simple solution of salt in warm water.
Keep Your Body Balance Acid and Alkaline Wise
“Immune cells that are too acid or too alkaline do not produce antibodies or cytokines (chemical messengers to regulate other immune cells), and they have impaired phagocytosis (the ability to engulf and destroy microbes). As a result, the affected individual becomes susceptible to viral, bacterial, fungal and other infectious microbes as well as cancer.” Says Dr. William Lee Cowden
A balanced body that is not highly acidic makes it easier for cells to cleanse out waste and toxins. Here is a link to an article that goes into more detail: The Dangers of an Acid Diet For You
The easiest is to get the book
Balance Your Body
All You Need to Know About the Alkaline Diet
It contains the full description of the acid/alkaline balance and understanding. Also, food charts of the most alkaline to most acid-forming foods are to be printed and put on your fridge for easy reference.
This book is very helpful in helping you understand these principles.

Get Some Exercise – Move Your Body
“Exercise causes change in antibodies and white blood cells (WBC). WBCs are the body’s immune system cells that fight disease.” ~ Medicine Plus
Gentle exercise stimulates the immune response. Go for a walk every day and try doing a little yoga. Just 15 minutes a day of exercise helps.
For Prevention Of Flues and Colds Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Make sure you are sleeping 8 hours a day and limit being on your computer or phone at least one hour before bedtime.
“Without sufficient sleep, your body makes fewer cytokines, a type of protein that targets infection and inflammation, effectively creating an immune response.” ~ Sleep Foundation.
