It seems that where ever we go there are bowls full of these beautiful sweet mandarin oranges. With their loose skin making them easy to peel, they are a simple fun treat for children too. They are an excellent source of vitamin c and they are also a good source of vitamin A and a source of B-complex vitamins.  They reduce the risk of liver cancer and lessen the hardening of arteries, especially in diabetics. Mandarin oranges also help fight breast cancer and help reduce the risk of leukemia.

Kale is a great detox food that is full of fiber and low in cholesterol. It supports normal blood clotting, antioxidant activity, and bone health while nourishing the immune system.

Spinach was a superfood even before there was the term superfood I’m referring of course to Popeye the Sailor Man. One can of the green stuff and he turned into muscle popping tornado of energy. Even without Popeye’s recommendation, spinach contains more nutrients per calorie than any other food on the earth. It is loaded with vitamins like A, K, D, and E and a host of trace minerals and is a good source of omega 3 fatty acid.

Avocado is bursting with lots of health benefits and is so strongly associated with fertility and aphrodisiacs that the Aztecs would lock up virgin daughters during avocado harvest time to keep them safe.  Read the details and check out the infographic on this wonderful Superfood. Some people avoid avocados due to their high-fat content. Most of us know by now that avocados have the kind of fat that actually helps you lose weight!

Strawberries are considered to be one of the healthiest fruits. They are packed with antioxidants, lower blood pressure, and protect your heart. Also, full of essential vitamins and minerals, and are also sodium, cholesterol, and fat-free.

Unregulated chemicals in tap water are not good for us! Most of us already know that our tap water is filled with unregulated chemicals! And many of us always filter it before drinking it. I have for decades.

Here is the water filter I am using and very happy with it. The only way to remove fluoride is to use a reverse osmosis system and some are better than others. When I did my research this is the one I decided on.

Sometimes what I do is make a double recipe and put the extra in a jar in the fridge for tomorrow. I know it is not as healthy to do that but sometimes I need something quick with no prep.
