Cranberry Sauce Sugar-free Recipe That Is Healthy

Cranberry sauce is that is sugar-free is delicious and cranberries are one of the healthy superfoods meaning they are full of health benefits. The health benefits of cranberries are almost totally depleted when generous amounts of sugar are added. Thus the cranberry cannot provide you with its full phytonutrient benefits.

Why not have a healthy sauce with a celebration meal? So, I created this very tasty sugar-free recipe and you will get all the amazing health benefits of cranberries.

Usually, the problem with cranberry sauce is that it is full of sugar. Here is my version of the popular Cranberry Sauce without any sugar which is no easy thing when it comes to cranberries as they are so tart.

Sugar and Cranberries:

  • 1 cup of fresh cranberries = about 50 calories.
  • 1 cup of cranberry sauce contains = 400 calories.

Apples – Your mom didn’t use the term superfood but she knew about apples. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” was the first nutritional advice I and many children heard from their moms.  For this reason, we call them “the first superfood.”

Stevia –  is a natural sweetener alternative that helps to regulate blood sugar and lower blood pressure. The stevia plant is incredibly sweet and also incredibly good for you.  The leaf is 30 times sweeter than sugar while extracts are 300-400 times sweeter. Sugar-Free Cranberry Sauce

Keyword cranberries, sauce, sugar-free, Vegan

Ingredients

  • 1 Package whole organic cranberries fresh, not frozen
  • 1 apple cored and chopped
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup brown rice syrup
  • 1 tsp liquid stevia
  • pinch Himalayan salt

Instructions

  • Put all of the ingredients into a saucepan and let simmer for a few minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and let cool.
  • Taste and add more Stevia or Brown Rice Syrup if you like it sweeter.

Now enjoy your healthy cranberry sauce that is sugar-free.

  1. The RAW version of cranberry relish;
    1 cup of fresh organic cranberries
    1 cup of dried organic cranberries
    4 medjool dates, depitted and quartered
    1 orange , curt into small pieces
    1 tsp orange rind
    apple juice
    Place all cranberries in the food processor and pulse and chop.  Add dates ( cut into quarters) Mix this with the cranberries.  Add apple juice until you get the desired consistency.  Add orange rind.  Mix in orange by hand.   Serve at room temperature or place in the dehydrator for an hour to warm through.
